Hello there! My name is Liv Sullivan!
I am a nineteen-year-old college student who was majoring in Theatre Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus. However, I am currently taking a gap year to pursue my music full-time and see where this experience takes me.
Although Covid-19 kept me from living on campus for two semesters out of the three I had, my beautiful and fantastic mother (“momager”) created the ultimate dorm for me down in our basement. This sucky situation ended up being a blessing in disguise because it allowed me the much-needed time to concentrate on writing music. The very first song I ever got the opportunity to professionally record is called “I Would,” which I wrote in Junior year of high school as I have absolutely been in love with songwriting since I was in 8th grade.
I have been a resident of Montvale, New Jersey my entire life and have overcome much adversity, just like many of the amazing Turner Syndrome women. I had open heart surgery at two months old, endured many ear surgeries and have moderate hearing loss.
Also, at the age of twelve, I suffered the loss of my father who has and will forever be my hero. He became ill in 2008 and fought for 4 hard years. Truth be told, my glass is always full, just as my father’s was. After he passed away, I began journaling and songwriting to help cope with my grief.
From an incredibly youthful age, I have been obsessed with pop musicians such as Taylor Swift (my ULTIMATE favorite), Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and the Jonas Brothers just to name a few.
I also LOVE concerts and have attended many. Every year on my birthday, along with every other holiday my family celebrates, I request tickets to see my idols on stage. While still trying like heck to meet Taylor Swift, speaking with Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande along with winning tickets to the Z100s Jingle Ball in 2016 have been major highlights in my life! (I have not missed one Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden until the pandemic hit!)
I have been taking keyboard and singing lessons for many years now and although it is more difficult for me to hear pitches due to my hearing loss, I have never given up!
About My First Single “I Would”
My keyboard teacher and friend, Brianna Musco (an exceptionally talented singer, songwriter) is the one who really guided me through the entire process of recording and releasing “I Would.” Brianna was the guitar player in the professional recording as well. Another big contributor was my voice teacher, Jennifer CeCe from Westwood Music Studios. A fantastic songwriter from Westwood Music Studios Jason Degeorge, helped me take the melody I had in mind into actual musical notes on the guitar.
I wrote it about a guy I had a crush on at the time who unfortunately could not reciprocate those feelings. Even though it sucks to pour your heart out to somebody to hear them say, “I just see us as friends,” the experience inspired this song which has opened a lot of doors for me.
A close friend to my family once wrote my mother this text after listening…“My wife and I were just blasting Olivia’s song “I Would” in our house on Spotify for the third time. Cannot wait for her next release. Taylor Swift would be enormously proud. Such a great interpretation of her sound. Well executed by a lifelong fan. So impressed!” It is funny how God works in mysterious ways.
Now, there is an official music video for “I Would” out on YouTube and I have also released my second single & music video, “Don’t Come Around”!
I say when people aren’t there for you, music is. And this is why I cannot imagine life without music.
I feel so grateful that I get write songs and share them, THANK YOU LOVES FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! Also, a special thank you to Mother Doreen Sullivan who can also be called my momager :), my brother Paul, and entire family and friends for all they have done for me.
